Zion Episcopal Church ECW
The women of Zion Church continue a long tradition of belonging to the National Episcopal Churchwomen Organization.
We support the United Thank Offering of the National Church with funds
given by Parishioners that are added to those of other churches for
mission help locally, nationally, and abroad.
We organize an Annual Harvest Dinner which is a major fund raising
activity of this group. Proceeds from the dinner provide funds
for needed repairs or improvements to our Parish Hall Kitchen and/or
for other needed Parish projects.
At present we provide a scholarship for a child in the Dominican
Republic, one of ten provided by Parishioners and other groups of this
church.
We provide First Bibles to children at Baptism.
We provide Lenten Folders to the Parish, and the Lenten offerings are used for charitable purposes.
We provide refreshments and a place to gather after any funeral service at Zion, if families wish this.
Working with other churches and our local school, our members organize
a Jesse Tree each Adventide from which Parishioners provide Christmas
gifts of clothing and toys to local children in need. These gifts
are gathered at an Annual Advent Tea hosted by our Rector and his wife
and sponsored by the ECW for all women and girls of Zion Church and
their guests.
We remember, with flowers or fruit baskets, the sick, the shut-in and those who have lost a loved one.
Zion ECW has always enhanced the ministries of Zion Church and acts as a helping hand wherever and whenever needed.
